Cornell University Secures Hemp Cultivation Research Partnership

Cornell University announced in a press release that it had secured a research partnership with a global agricultural company in order to study hemp and help farmers with much-needed information. The research that will be conducted by Cornell University and Pyxus International will last for an unspecified number of years. This partnership was born out of the mutual interest of the two parties in industrial hemp. During the first year of this collaboration, attention will be centered on four key objectives. The Largest Hemp Processing Facility in the US Opens in Colorado

Colorado City in Southern Colorado will soon be host to the largest hemp processing facility in the U.S. when a facility set up by Paragon Processing starts operating. The 250,000 square foot facility was opened on Wednesday last week and the company says that they hope to process close to 50 million pounds of hemp each year. Thai Authorities OK Hemp Use in Food, Cosmetics and Herbal Products

Hemp and its different derivatives can now be used in cosmetics, food and herbal products in Thailand after the authorities there relaxed the restrictions on these products. A royal gazette announcing this change indicated that the rule change would take effect starting on August 27. The government in Thailand also removed marijuana and hemp whose THC content doesn’t exceed 0.2 percent from the list of prohibited narcotic products. High THC Levels Cost Hawaii Hemp Farmers their Crop
